Kir Yianni was founded in 1997 by Yiannis Boutaris, continuing the long family tradition that has its roots in the early 20th century, founded the company Kir-Yianni in 1997. His son Stellios is now head of the company, which focuses on producing excellent wines which combine typicity with character, with a taste aimed at the modern consumer.
The company has vineyards and a winery at Amynteo and Naoussa in Western Macedonia. At Yianakohori, Naoussa, and in the wider area around Agios Panteleimon, Amynteo, they cultivate a total area of 74 hectares of vineyards with the varieties Roditis, Sauvignon Blanc, Xinomavro, Merlot, Syrah, Chardonnay and Gewürztraminer.
The winery, with a total capacity of 800,000 bottles, is perfectly equipped for vinification, aging in barrels, and bottling. Kir-Yianni produces 10 labels and exports wine to fifteen countries.
