Domaine Porto Carras
Domaine Porto Carras is located in Sithonia, Halkidiki. The largest organic Greek vineyard – and one of the largest in Europe – at 475 hectares, it occupies a privileged position.
The first vines were planted in the 1970s, and the vineyard was systematically remodelled in 2002. At present the following varieties are grown: Athiri, Assyrtiko, Roditis, Malagouzia, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Limnio, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Merlot, Cinsault, Ugni Blanc, Chardonnay and Moschato Alexandrias. The entire vineyard is organically cultivated.
The winery was built in 1970. Since 2000 it has been extensively modernised by Techniki Olympiaki, the current owner of the Domaine, and its total capacity now reaches 1,200,000 bottles.
They produce 18 labels and export wine to fifteen countries.
